Why many believers are frustrated with their faith
Many believers are frustrated because they ‘know’ what the Word says, but they don’t experience the results they think they should. Faith is not a belief without proof or belief despite the evidence; rather, faith is a complete trust or confidence in someone or something. The trust or confidence we have in someone is built up over time as he proves himself faithful time and time again. As we hear more and more about God, faith comes (Romans 10:17
Jesus says that if you have faith, you can command a mountain to jump into the sea. He also taught them that they must ask in his name and that their prayers must be in accordance with God’s will. … Prayer is the great privilege of the child of God.
Mark 11:23-24 KJV
For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith. Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them.
Good News Bible says;
“I assure you that whoever tells this hill to get up and throw itself in the sea and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that what he says will happen, it will be done for him. For this reason, I tell you: when you pray and ask for something, believe that you have received it, and you will be given whatever you ask for.”
So What is Faith?
Many people ask “what is faith?” Hebrews chapter 11 starting from verses one answers this question well. Others desire to understand how faith works. Faith is simply the act of having complete confidence in God’s even through unfulfilled promises. In other words, it is the certainty that God is who he says he is and he will certainly do all what he says he will do.
Faith is the Christian weapon or tool that makes the impossible possible. It changes situations and restores the joy and happiness of God’s children. Faith and belief are one in the kingdom of God. They are inseparable. They are all we need in order to walk in higher spiritual dimensions with Jesus Christ.
With faith in God, nothing is impossible, just as Jesus Christ mentioned in the Holy Scriptures. Jesus Christ conquered fear, doubt, death, and all satanic principalities on the cross. Through the message of the cross, we are given victory in Christ. And for sure, victory in Christ is victory indeed. God has given men and women tremendous power through the name of Jesus Christ. This power lays in the words that come out of our mouths. All we need in order to release this power is faith or belief in our hearts.
How does one get faith?
Romans 10:17 declares; “So faith comes from hearing, and hearing through the word of Christ”. Verse 18… But I ask, have they not heard? Indeed they have, for “Their voice has gone out to all the earth, and their words to the ends of the world.” But I ask, did Israel not understand? First Moses says, “I will make you jealous of those who are not a nation; with a foolish nation I will make you angry.” Then Isaiah is so bold as to say, “I have been found by those who did not seek me; I have shown myself to those who did not ask for me.” But of Israel he says, “All day long I have held out my hands to a disobedient and contrary people.”
him of whom they have never heard? And how are they to hear without someone preaching? And how are they to preach unless they are sent? As it is written, “How beautiful are the feet of those who preach the good news!” But they have not all obeyed the gospel. For Isaiah says, “Lord, who has believed what he has heard from us?”
This famous verse builds on Paul’s quote of Isaiah in the previous verse. There Isaiah asks the Lord “who has believed what he has heard from us?” (Isaiah 53:1). Paul was showing that a refusal to believe what God says amounts to disobedience. That, according to Scripture, is the root problem when people hear the gospel and do not accept it (John 5:39–40; 7:17). Those who disbelieve do so because, on some level, they do not want to believe.
Now, though, Paul writes that when believing happens, it is through hearing what the Lord says “through the word of Christ.” Paul seems to be referring to his prior chain of steps which must occur to bring a person to the point of calling on the Lord. Christ sends out His representatives to preach the gospel. Those who hear it have the opportunity to believe. Those who believe call on Christ. And all who call on the name of Christ will be saved (Romans 10:13).
Romans 10:14–21 explains that, despite hearing the gospel and understanding it, Israel continues to disobey. Paul works through a series of questions, showing where and how Israel has failed to accept the truth given them by God. His point is clear: the people of Israel have been given more than enough knowledge, and so they ought to recognize their Messiah. Despite that stubbornness and failure, God waits, still holding out His hands to His people.
Each person has been given a measure of faith but it is an individual’s responsibility to grow it
In the English Standard Version of the Bible, Romans 12:3 says, “For by the grace given to me I say to everyone among you not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think, but to think with sober judgment, each according to the measure of faith that God has assigned.” The New American Standard Bible, King James Version, and Holman Christian Standard Bible also contain “measure of faith,” while “measure of faith” is presented as “the faith God has distributed to each of you” in the New International Version and “the faith God has given us” in the New Living Translation.
Right away, two facts are apparent about the “measure of faith”: first, it is the standard by which we correctly appraise ourselves, and, second, it is meted out by God. Because each believer receives his measure of faith by God’s allotment, we are prevented from thinking of ourselves “more highly” than we ought.
Recognizing that our measure of faith comes from God prevents pride and encourages “sober judgment.” Each of us should recognize the limits of his or her own gifts. At the same time, we must acknowledge the gifts that others possess and that each believer is divinely placed into Christ as a vital and functioning part of His spiritual Body (Romans 12:4–8; cf. 1 Corinthians 12:27). No member should consider himself or herself as superior to any other but should instead recognize that God has placed us just where He wants us with the gifts He has chosen for us (1 Corinthians 12:11).
God has given to each a “measure of faith” to use for Him. This “faith” is the gift from which all the other gifts flow. Faith is the first gift we receive (for justification), and faith is the gift that brings the other gifts of the Spirit into our lives. When a person is born again, God gives him gifts as a new member of the family of God. We receive the gifts according to the measure that God has given us, and we exercise the gifts according to the same measure of faith.
“To each one of us grace has been given as Christ apportioned it” (Ephesians 4:7). God deals to everyone his portion. Not everyone receives all the gifts, nor is the same gift given to everyone in the same measure. Our sovereign God distributes each gracious gift according to the measure of faith that He has bestowed on us.
A man or woman of strong faith can displace mountains and dry oceans with the words from his/her mouth. Perhaps you were not aware, but words when spoken in the name of Jesus Christ have power to change every situation for the best. You can verify this saying by reading from Genesis 1. It was with words that God created Heaven and Earth together with all we have today. We can also read this from John 1 which says that in the beginning, God spoke everything into existence through Jesus Christ.
Christianity is a faith based religion
Christianity is a faith-based religion. It is based on faith in God and in His Son, Jesus Christ. God has provided us with His Word, the Holy Bible, as a testimony of His faithfulness to His people all throughout history. In its bare essentials, Christianity is faith in the person and work of Jesus Christ. Jesus Christ claimed to be the promised Messiah and the Son of God. His life was one of perfect righteousness according to the revealed Law of God, His death was an atoning sacrifice for the sins of His people, and He was raised to life three days after His death. When we place our faith and trust in Christ alone for our salvation, God takes our sin and places it on the cross of Christ and awards us, by grace, with the perfect righteousness of Christ. That, in a nutshell, is the Christian message. As Christians, we are called to believe this message and live in light of it.
Despite this, Christians still struggle with believing the biblical account because it doesn’t match up with our perception of reality. We may believe that Jesus was a real person, we may believe that He died by crucifixion at the hand of the Romans, we may even believe that He led a perfect life according to God’s Law, but we don’t “see” how faith in Christ makes us righteous before God. We can’t “see” Jesus atoning for our sins. We can’t “see” or “perceive” any of the great truths of Christianity, and, therefore, we struggle with lack of faith. As a result of this lack of perception, our lives often do not reflect the fact that we really believe what we claim to believe.
With a God kind of faith, you can open all closed doors in your life
You can get things moving despite the attacks from the enemy. However, many of us hardly make it because we lack the necessary faith. We are unable to believe and remain in faith regardless of circumstances facing us. We need to grow our faith in order to receive whatever we ask from God. The main way to grow your faith is to read and act on God’s word. That’s why you should start by studying God’s word and mastering it. Learn about the promises he has entitled for you. The scriptures say that God’s people perish because they lack knowledge. You can’t claim from God what you are ignorant of. Get to know who God says you are and stand on his words that never fail.
Worth noting is that men of faith do not walk by physical sight. Such men make use of their spiritual sight. You can be sure that your physical eyes will give you many reasons not to believe in God. Satan is out to use your physical situation to create doubt and fear within you. But remember that Christ has already worn the victory for us. That’s why you should refuse to live by physical sight and instead live on what God says you are.
The gap that separates you from your miracle can only be closed through faith. This applies for all sectors of life. Do not let your heart be troubled; God knows your needs. Just believe in him and he will make a way where there seems to be none. The world is full of people with great testimonies about the goodness of God in their lives. And for sure, you won’t be an exception. God will certainly give you so many reasons to honor and glorify his holy name on Earth as it is done in Heaven.
God is aware of your poverty, sickness, and sadness. You can be sure that he will not leave without blessing you. All that you need to do is to remain in his light while trusting His Word. Speak in the Name of Jesus whatever you want to come to pass, trust and believe God and you’ll live to testify His goodness in your life.
